SNOWBOARDING VIDEOS

In 1965 a man named Sherman Poppen developed a toy for his children that could allow them to surf on snow. The following year he developed the product and manufactured it for the toy market. The snurfer (snow surfer) was a type of snowboard with a piece of string attached to the front of it for steering.

Other companies were springing up around this time developing boards for the adult market. These companies and the market for snowboards were still relatively small. It wasn't until the 1970's that snowboarding really took off.

1998 saw the first major breakthrough for snowboarding when it was included in the olympics and recgonised as a proper sport. Since then the snowboarding market has continued to grow building a multi million dollar industry across the world.
